    - Collaborative Efforts to Be Made to Drive Domestic Logistics Growth in Vietnam

LX Pantos (CEO: Lee Yong-ho) has announced  the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), a state-owned shipping company in Vietnam. The MOU aims to bolster coastal and maritime transportation between Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries.

The MOU signing ceremony took place at VIMC’s headquarters in Hanoi, with key executives from both companies in attendance. Representing LX Pantos was the Executive Director of the W&D Division, Roh Seung-hyun, the Asia Regional Director, Lee Jong-chan, and the Head of the Vietnam Branch, Lee
Joung-houn. VIMC was represented by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ah (Chairman, VIMC Lines) and Mrs. Do Thi Ngoc Trang (General Director, VIMC Lines), among others.

Founded in 1995, VIMC is the country’s largest shipping company, operating 61 vessels, 16 port terminals, and approximately 1.7 million square meters of container yards. The Vietnam Port Authority is its largest shareholder.

Through the MOU, LX Pantos and VIMC have formalized their commitment to a strategic alliance that leverages VIMC’s extensive port infrastructure and fleet. The partnership will initially focus on enhancing coastal transport services within Vietnam, with plans to expand into broader Southeast Asian maritime routes.

LX Pantos also intends to capitalize on VIMC’s comprehensive logistics infrastructure across Vietnam to jointly develop domestic logistics services within the country, addressing the growing needs of the local market.

“Our partnership with VIMC, a trusted leader in Vietnam’s logistics industry, aligns with our strategy to provide superior service in a market that is experiencing significant growth and investment from global manufacturers,” said Roh Seung-hyun, Executive Director of the W&D Division at LX Pantos. “Together, we aim to elevate the standards of logistics services available to our diverse customer base.”

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in LX Pantos’s ongoing efforts to expand its international operations, following recent developments such as the opening of a major rail terminal near Budapest, Hungary, and the establishment of a joint venture focused on Korea-China multimodal transportation.
