Pantos Logistics Selected as One of The 100 Exemplary Businesses in The Free Trade Zone, Shanghai, China

- Pantos employee becomes the first Korean to be selected
as one of the top 10 model business people 
 

On March 16, it was reported that Pantos Logistics (President & CEO: Sung-koo Yeo), the largest logistics business in Korea, had been selected as one of the 100 exemplary businesses in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Pudong, Shanghai, China for the year 2008.


Selected along with Pantos Logistics were 20 logistics businesses including Schenker, Danzas, Nippon Express, and KINTETSU WORLD EXPRESS (KWE), and 80 trading/manufacturing businesses, such as Siemens, Toyota, Apple, IBM and Dupont. Pantos was the only Korean logistics businesses to make the top 20 list.


Kim Byeong-rok, manager of the Huazhong Operations Department of Pantos, became the first Korean to be selected as one of the top 10 model business people in the Free Trade Zone in recognition of his continued efforts to expand business operations in China amid the global financial crisis.


Among the honors Pantos has received in Shanghai are the Exemplary Foreign-invested Business Award (2004 and 2005), selection as one of the top 100 exemplary businesses (2006, 2007 and 2008), certification as an “A”-class business by the Shanghai Customs Office (2008), and selection as one of the 13 leading logistics businesses (2009).


Having launched its operation in China eleven years ago, Pantos Logistics now has offices in the Huazhong, Huanan and Huabei areas, operates a network linking more than 30 cities, including, Shanghai, Tianjin and Qindao, and conducts a whole range of logistics operations, including air/ocean/railroad freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and so forth.
