LX Pantos: Korea’s First Company
to Attain CEIV-Fresh Certification
- LX Pantos was the first company in Korea to receive CEIV-Fresh certification from the IATA.
- LX Pantos’s competitive edge in cold chain logistics will serve as a stepping stone for the expansion of its global air cargo business.
In a groundbreaking achievement, LX Pantos has become the first company in Korea to attain the coveted Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) in Fresh Logistics from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Adding to its previously earned CEIV-Pharma certification from the same group in 2020, the CEIV-Fresh certification completes LX Pantos’s competitive edge in cold chain logistics, providing significant momentum for the company to expand its air cargo operations.
LX Pantos announced this milestone on November 22, 2022 at a Korea Air Cargo Day event held at the Seoul Garden Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, underscoring its commitment to excellence and innovation in the global air cargo industry.
The CEIV-Fresh certification, awarded by the IATA, is a definitive acknowledgment of LX Pantos’s adherence to stringent cold chain management principles. Ensuring the secure and reliable air transport of perishable cargo, the certification evaluates 319 criteria across 11 categories, encompassing transportation procedures, facilities, specialized personnel, and regulatory compliance. By achieving this certification, LX Pantos has demonstrated its capability to meet—and exceed—global standards in handling fresh cargo throughout the entire logistics process.
Dealing with fresh cargo poses unique challenges, requiring specialized expertise in low-temperature transportation and refrigerated storage. International certification from the most reputable organizations is crucial for companies engaged in the intricate logistics of fresh cargo, as it ensures adherence to global standards and builds trust with partners and clients.
Previously, LX Pantos earned CEIV-Pharma certification from the IATA in 2020. Now, as the sole domestic logistics company holding both CEIV-Pharma and CEIV-Fresh certification—major international certifications for cold chain logistics—LX Pantos enjoys unparalleled credibility as it prepares to expand into the global air cargo market.
Industry analysts predict that LX Pantos’s dual certification will not only enhance its reputation in the global air cargo market but also provide a significant impetus for business expansion. According to Grand View Research, a prominent global market research firm, the global cold chain market is expected to experience an average annual growth rate of 14.7%, reaching USD 3.83 billion by 2025, up from USD 1.93 billion in 2020.
